REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing and Renewal Core ValuesWhat are your top 3-5 core values? How did you narrow it down to those as being your core values?
Fatema Adamji 10/28/2020 12:08 PMMy top 5 values are: Compassion, Freedom, Enjoyment and Integrity. I narrowed these down as areas that are important to my life. I tried to think of things that resonate to me and the person I want to be. I will try my level best to live life through these values. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Enjoy the Sunrise/SunsetFather Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?
Fatema Adamji 10/28/2020 11:06 AMI agree with Berry because I often hear people saying that it is a new day. Every day is an opportunity to make change and reminds us that time passes even if we are at a standstill. An interesting way to see the bigger picture, if you will.-
Courtney Groszhans 10/28/2020 5:04 PMI love this sentiment, thank you for sharing!

Fatema Adamji 10/28/2020 11:03 AMI struggled to enjoy the sunsets this time around. I think it is because it's starting to get dark earlier and I am usually still working! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Volunteer in My CommunityWhat is one thing you can do to help your community become more sustainable?
Fatema Adamji 10/26/2020 7:43 AMSetting up a sharing economy is a great way to help your community be sustainable. Educating friends and family about ways to reduce waste and reusing items instead of throwing them into the garbage is another. I am learning a lot by participating in the Toronto Ecofair this year as a volunteer! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Host a Watch PartyWhat did you learn about in the documentary you watched? How did it make you feel?
Fatema Adamji 10/19/2020 8:13 AMThe documentary reinforced my learning about racial injustice and discrimination. It made me livid. It made me want to demand change. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Watch a Documentary about Racial InjusticeWhat did you learn about racial injustice in the documentary(ies) you watched? How does what you learned connect to your understanding of sustainability?
Fatema Adamji 10/19/2020 8:12 AMI watched Strong Island over the weekend. A chilling documentary. I learned about a victim's family and how they were broken by their tragedy. How the system they believed in failed them and how they never got justice. I learned about racial segregation, redlining and injustice and how horribly unsustainable it is to treat whole populations unjustly and unfairly because a system cannot function properly if part of it is neglected and mistreated. It will break down. -
Fatema Adamji 10/13/2020 6:35 AMOver the weekend, I enjoyed time with friends and family but even though I practice many Ecochallenge actions in my daily life, I was unable to check off the new action items I set for this challenge. I will do better this week! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Exercise DailyHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
Fatema Adamji 10/08/2020 10:20 AMYou can set up buddy workouts, walks or hikes so that you can spend quality time with the people you care about :) Hikes are great because they allow you to be out in nature while spending time with people!-
Courtney Groszhans 10/09/2020 11:32 AMHiking is wonderful! It is also nice to go hiking with other people because they can show you trails you have never heard of before or gone on!
