Being in nature grounds me and helps with my mental health. I want to dig my toes into the ground, turn my face to the sun, and run my fingers through the air.

I'm a little late to the game this year, but just picked a few one time actions and completed them! I learned about cultures I am less familiar with and offset my carbon emissions. Thank you to the team at EcoChallenge.org and at my organization for putting on another great challenge!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Justice for the Whole Community Research Voter Suppression

I was struck by how close and well staffed early voting places are in Charlotte for more effluent areas compared to poorer areas, and Charlotte is pretty liberal. From a state point of view, I'm glad the voter ID law was struck down...the ways in which they systematical targeted which kinds of IDs did and did not count, and the hoops people would have to go through was enraging. Everyone should be given equal opportunities to vote.

Straws.  I have bought stainless steel straws and we've been using and rinsing them every time.

Make it  a federal mandate to offer vote in mailing option in all states.  Voters should have more options to vote, not less.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Justice for the Whole Community Support Native Communities
Indigenous speaker and activist Winona LaDuke says that, "most indigenous ceremonies, if you look to their essence, are about the restoration of balance — they are a reaffirmation of our relationship to creation. That is our intent: to restore, and then to retain balance and honor our part in creation." Why is balance important to sustainability?

Sustainability is a delicate balance between humans and nature.  The more respect, reverence, and mindfulness we give to nature, the more rewarded we are, not only for our generation, but for generations to come.

Out with the old and in with the new! Excited to get this replaced. I only have central heat so this comes at the perfect time of year. I like that I'll be able to program for the day and night - will help keep the house regulated without spikes.
