    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

Obviously, things are different right now, but knowing now how much of a difference the reuseable cup makes, helped me see that making the effort to remember to carry a mug with me, is absolutely worth it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Work From Home
It takes the average worker in the United States 26 minutes to travel to work. One way to fix long commutes would be to make cities more affordable. An even simpler option: promote the use of telework. How have you used technology to replace in-person meetings or work this year?

Learning to use multiple platforms for virtual meetings has made it possible to at least see people, both in and out of work, when seeing people in person is either not feasible or not possible.

Things like waving at people and getting to appreciate your surroundings instead of having them go by in a blur are no longer taken for granted.

It's surprising what you can find not far from your own front door if you only look.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Forgiveness
How has the process of forgiving, or contemplating forgiveness, benefited you?

Discovering that forgiveness doesn't mean excusing or in any way condoning the behavior of the offender and now "being ok" with things, but instead choosing freedom from being hurt by it anymore.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Learn About & Practice Sustainable Fashion
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

One way is to "shop my closet" for clothes and accessories that bring me "joy" when wearing or looking at.

I think most helpful was incorporating mindfulness practice into my daily routines- for example: during work break and at bedtime.
Also exploring additional resources to read and practice.

Ways to incorporate other values into exercise routine:
-listen to my audiobooks (fiction/non-fiction) while walking on treadmill.
-Participate in upcoming Zoom exercise sessions sponsored by our Kern Center Wellness Team- these will connect us with our colleagues
-move my daily walks to outside when weather permits.
