Health Learn More about Food Apartheid
What can lack of access to nutritious food affect a community? How can having access to nutritious food help a community become more resilient?

Lack of access to nutritious food can result in a multitude of health problems. It is a major indicator of systemic racial and economic inequality. Although food pantries and primarily white organizations do provide people in need with better access to food, they most often fail to create lasting food sovereignty in the communities they work with.

The easier it is to do a task, the more likely people will participate, including for recycling. Maybe at Neuqua we could figure out a way to pool resources to recycle some of the more hard to recycle items such as styrofoam and bread tags. (Did not know the latter could be recycled until I say one of Gillian Schneider's posts). Would it work if once a month or every 2 months those interested in recycling brought their uncommon goods to Neuqua and we could rotate who would drop them at the different centers? Of course it is better to avoid styrofoam and chose reusable containers instead, but it doesn't always happen that way.

    Health Take Control
How do environmental health, community health, and your personal health intersect?

They all affect my daily life and how it goes. For example if the environment is not healthy I wont be able to go outside. Or if the community and the people  is going through a hard time (protests) not much peace will be found in the day. If my own health is in danger whether it's mental, social, or physical health I won't be able to complete the day at the fullest capability.

I had a great last day today! I tried to go all in, but there wasn't much to do. I went to Michaels and went on a yarn haul and instead of using the plastic bags they gave, I just carried them to the car :)

We have reached the last day of the Eco Challenge! Hopefully everyone feels proud that they made progress with their environmental goals. Some of you might be leaving attuned to new things in your environment. Great! Thanks for all your hard work.

    Community Learn About Constructive Communication
How can you, your loved ones, the community, and environment all benefit from constructive communication?

Instead of commenting on somebody's actions or stating facts, make your rhetoric pointed and engage in constructive, not critical conversations about people's actions pertaining to the environment.

Being part of a challenge and a team is motivating. Will need to work on sustainability of my goals once the challenge draws to an end and I don't have to account to others.
