BACK TO TEAM PAGE

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

To help the community become more sustainable is to share with others where they can donate, recycle, etc.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Meet My Local Farmers
When you know who produces your food, you are connecting personally to your complex regional food system. What are the advantages of knowing who produces your food and where it comes from? How can knowing their food producers enable someone to advocate for a better quality of life for those who produce their food, both near and far?

Knowing who produces your food gives you a sense of not only pride but sense of community and ownership- ownership to help them succeed and do well in their business. If you know ‘the who’ you can advocate for them and for their farms. It makes it more personal and brings the farms to the table in a whole new way.

Action Track: Healing and Renewal Happiness
How does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?

Practicing gratitude is something that I’ve tried to do prior to the challenge so seeing this as an action was extra inspiring/exciting.

I feel like reminding others how much they mean to you, why they are special and thanking others for whatever reason keeps you centered and motivates others. It spreads a little love and joy and gives everyone a piece of happiness in their day. #spreadkindness

Being outside is so recharging.  Thank goodness the weather here in Orlando is cooling a little to make it easier to be outside for longer periods of time.  Plenty of walks with the dog!

Only 2 days out of the 21 that I didn't achieve my goals.. That's good right? Thank you to Blythe for inviting me to this challenge.  It has created some additional mind shifts around my consumption of things.   For those of you who are still curious  around sustainability. Here are a few documentaries that provide a visual to our  history on how we humans consume resources on our planet. I will leave their titles right here ->  David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet (Netflix)  & The Story of Stuff (Youtube or stoyrofstuff.org)  Grab a kiddo and or a friend or loved one to watch them with you.  You may find yourself wanting to debrief ;)  - Much love to all... and thank you Mother Earth and all the farmers who have helped sustain my life here on Earth.

On 10/23, I voted in person at my local voting venue and brought my 8 year old son along.  It was an awesome experience for him and a proud moment for this dad!
